DECEMBER, 2022
The deadline to enroll in a health plan for 2023 is December 15th, 2022. This means that you have until this date to finish your enrollment process and select the health plan of your choice. After this date, you will no longer be able to enroll in a health plan until the next open enrollment period which starts in November 2023. However, you need to keep in mind the fact that there’s a special enrollment period, which will let you enroll on any other date outside this specific period of time. SPECIAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD
A special enrollment period is a time outside of the open enrollment period when you can sign up for health insurance. You qualify for a special enrollment period if you’ve had certain life events, such as losing other health coverage, getting married, or having a baby. If any of these things happen to you, then congrats! You will be able to enroll in a health plan outside of the open enrollment period.
Here are some common life events that can qualify you for a special obamacare enrollment period:
– Losing health coverage
– Getting married
– Having or adopting a baby, or placing a child for adoption or foster care
