But also, we’re here because we want to inform you. We don’t want you to waste your time on such a long process just so your request ends up being denied. Because of this, we want to inform you what are some requirements you NEED to have, and what are some you CAN’T have in order to access Obamacare.

What is Obamacare?

Obamacare is the popular name for The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). This act was created to help Americans have access to quality and affordable health insurance. The ACA does this by stopping insurance companies from discriminating against people with preexisting conditions, and by providing subsidies to low-income families so they can afford coverage.

How do I know if I qualify to access Obamacare?

Social Security Number – Residency

You need to have a social security number if you already have citizenship or a lawful residency in the United States, this is one of the many requirements you need in order to access Obamacare.

Work Permit or Visa

If you don’t have a permanent residency or citizenship that confirms that you’re currently living in the US legally, then you need to have a work permit or a work visa that affirms that you’re currently legally living in the country.

The work permit or visa needs to be valid for the entire duration of your insurance plan, if not, you won’t be able to access Obamacare.

Student Visa

Guess what? You ARE eligible for Obamacare if you're currently relying on a student visa, however, there's a requirement that your school is located within the United States. If you attend a school that's based in another country, then you, unfortunately, won't be able to access Obamacare with your student visa.

No legal issues

Besides the fact that you need to be legally living in the USA to access this program, you also need to show that you haven’t been in prison or you are not currently incarcerated for any possible reason. This is a really important one because some people think that legal issues can’t intervene in health situations, but, in order to access Obamacare, you definitely need to show that you’re currently not facing any legal situation.

Independent Person – Minimum Incomes

You need to show as a requirement that you don’t depend financially on anyone else, in fact, there’s a minimum amount of income required that you need to receive in order to be eligible and access Obamacare. The income varies on many factors such as the size of your family and your home state. Be sure to access a complete and personalized advisory with professionals so you can determine the exact requirements depending on your case.

If you meet all of these requirements to access Obamacare, there’s no reason why your enrollment should be denied. However, if you don’t gather all the necessary documents, then it will most likely be denied or delayed. Be careful and take your time! Blue Ocean is here for you!
